![]() ![]() It's not just the type of story, or the action involved either, it really is representative of Clancy's worldview (government-issue professional types laboring behind the scenes to save the world.and they know better than you, so why not let them just get on with it, what are you a Commie or something?) I've read most of Clancy's stuff and the whole concept of "The Division" actually fits perfectly with it. It's the same ♥♥♥♥ different name of the unit. To call this game out of theme with his work would be like calling rainbow six out of theme. That's not out of line with his books, and while yes, it lacks the espionage of several of his titles, there were quite a few that were right in line with it. Because the tom clancy franchise wasn't anything like this game, while the game is ok for what it is, the tom clancy title was uneeded and only used to attract customers. That's the only thing that connects all of his books, movies, and now games. And as has been said, the Clancy IP is more of a general type of story than it is a setting or anything else. This is right in line with many clancy stories. Originally posted by soviergn:Why would he be? The games general story fits the overarching themes of his books exceedingly well. ![]()
